We will be Lambing!

The flock have been scanned and we now know for sure we will be lambing come March 10th. Wally the scanning man made his annual visit to the farm this month, to ultrasound scan all 850 expectant ewes and determine whether they will be having 1,2,3,4 or dare I say it zero lambs The overall lambing percentage is a perfect 200% for the flock, with 503 of the 850 expecting the twins. The rest are a mix of singles, triplets and quads.

Scanning for Lambing season 2019

So with the lambing season now firmly in sight, our lambing courses will soon be upon us too. This will be our 4th year of holding the courses, and welcoming a lovely mix of animal lovers, aspiring vets, novice sheepkeepers, midwifes, vegetarians (to name but a few), to the farm. The extra pairs of hands will gain lots of lambing experience, learning from the real-life goings on in the lambing sheds, and helping us with all manner of lambing tasks.  It's a full day of practical insight, hands-on practice and plenty of coo-coo-ing with the most beautiful new borns around.
