Lambing now in Full Swing on the Farm

Lambing is now in full swing at Hare Farm. Our very first lambs arrived a week ago, and we are not far short of having had 100 births. That will be a tenth of the way through, so a long way to go yet!

It's such a great time to be on the farm. There's nothing more uplifting than seeing the mothers and their new born lambs be taken out to grass again for the first time in two months, and for the lambs to have sun on their backs and spring into action.

My children, Edward and Jessie,  have a brilliant time helping Uncle Stuart with feeding, and generally following him around and being "helpful". With the oast and hut being just a stone's throw away from the lambing sheds, our holiday guests are also able to pop in and out to see the goings on.

We have guests at the shepherd's hut this weekend, celebrating their wedding anniversary in glamping style. It's glorious weather, The daffodils are out. The lambs are bouncing. A fabulous time of year...
