Rye Bay Scallop Week Coming Soon

Between the dates of 25th February and 3rd March, Rye is celebrating its reputation for scallops being fished off its shores at Rye Bay.

Many of the local restaurants join in with the scallop frenzy and create some fabulous dishes for us all to try.

Alternatively, buy your own fresh scallops direct from the fisherman, and prepare your own dish at home.....and why not take a short break near Rye and make Hare Fram Oast or Shepherds Hut your home. As two self catering holiday homes, idea for either large groups or couples, they are only ten minutes drive from Rye.

In the large self catering oast house, ideal for large groups, enjoy the brand new rangemaster cooker and corian worktops, all set within one of the roundels. Not often do we get to cook an exquisite locally sourced scallop dish in a round kitchen!

Or for couples, go glamping in the shepherd's hut. Barbecue your scallops on the firepit and enjoy the idyll of being in your very own tranquil spot in one of the fields on the farm.

Take a look at scallop.org.uk for a restaurant listing and more information on the scallop festival in Rye.
