A Tough Test for the Shepherd's Hut

On what has arguably been the coldest and frostiest morning this Winter, Stuart and I put the Shepherd's Hut to the test today, and lit our first fire in the shepherd's hut woodburner.

Within an hour of lighting the fire, we were so warm and cosy, and shepherding work for Stuart was put on hold for a bit! We let time stop while we enjoyed tea from the woodburner kettle, looking out at the sheep having their own breakfast of hay and nuts.

What a temperature change when stepping out from the toasty hut and into the crisp frostiness of outdoors. It's amazing how well the fire heats the hut, and holds the heat too. With little effort throughout the day, we kept the fire going until Edward and Jessie arrived after school, our nephew and niece. They stripped off to their vests while inside...!

I loved the sight of seeing the smoke from the chimney snaking up into the sky. It make sthe shepherd's hut so welcoming.

So never fear, even on the coldest of days, a shepherd's hut holiday will keep you warm as toast all day and night. What a perfect place to experience the wonders of  glamping!
