A Perfect Valentine's Retreat

Our guests stay at the shepherd’s hut here at Hare Farm (nr Rye, East Sussex) to get away from it all, and indulge in just their own company.

Small but perfectly formed, the charming hut is as warm as toast in the Winter, with a lovely wood-burner stove heating the room, warming the floorboards and creating wispy smoke trails that billow into the frosty skies.

Soft brushed cotton bedding and fluffy cushions adorn the double bed, and a drop-down table for 2 overlooking the far-reaching valleys below, is an ideal spot to read, bird watch, enjoy a coffee from the stove, watch the sheep graze right up to the hut…and even play table football.

With no electricity, the light of the fire and burning candle in the hurricane lamp create a dreamy, cosy ambience at night.

So many glamping holidays are shared with others. Often there are half a dozen huts, ti-pis or yurts in the same field. Not here. We have just one shepherd's hut, set in its own private idyll. It’s perched on the brow of a hill, sheltered by a copse and overlooking rolling pasture, woodland and a tranquil lake. Beautiful walks up and over the hills are right on your doorstep, the local pub (The Red Lion, Brede) is just a 15 minute stroll away, and Rye just ten minutes by car.

The hut is still available for an idyllic romantic escape this Valentine's night....
