The Shepherd's Hut
The Shepherd's hut at Hare Farm is set in Chestnuts Field, sheltered by a copse and looking out over a lake with far-reaching views down the Brede Valley in the heart of rural Sussex.
The hut is newly built by Plankbridge based in Dorset who care deeply about quality and heritage. It replicates the shape and look of its authentic Victorian origins as a shepherd's shelter, but now includes the modern elements and detailing for a taste of luxury camping.
It sleeps two in a full-sized double bed and is cosy and comfortable on the chilliest of nights, with cushions, throws and a glowing wood burner to keep you warm and toasty. There is no electricity in the hut so it is lit by lanterns and torches, and there is a camping stove for simple cooking and boiling a kettle for that early morning cup of tea.
Painted in Farrow and Ball colours, cupboards under the bed and a small dresser provide ample storage. There are two director's chairs and a let-down table by the double window overlooking the views.
Outside and under the unspoilt sky, the shepherd's hut is a perfect spot for a barbecue, listening to the sounds of the countryside and glimpsing the barn owls hunt along the valley at dusk.
The brand new, fully-fitted kitchen and wet room are a short stroll away of under a minute, based in the newly restored Sussex Barn.
Shepherds hut holidays at Hare Farm offer the most extraordinary glamping experience.
